Last season, we saw the NFL implement a rule change to the PAT attempt, moving the kick back and essentially making it a 33-yard FG attempt. The results were interesting as several kickers struggled with the longer distance, and a number of teams made the decision to forego the kick for more 2-point attempts. In the end, it made the extra point play more exciting and it was a positive change for the game. In fact, several players, including Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger, said they’d rather “go for two” after EVERY touchdown!
Well, with that in mind, I started thinking back to my playing days and what types of plays I would have liked to have run if we had to go for two after every TD. What would my go-to plays be? I decided the first thing I’d want is a big, strong, pass catching TE like Rob Gronkowski! If I had that, I’d definitely do some of the things the Patriots do near the goal line.
Today, I drew up a “money” play on our RFN Glass board that the Patriots could run after every touchdown for a sure score. Check out the video and let us know what you think on Twitter at @realfootballTV and on Facebook at Real Football Network.Add to My RFN
