When I was the QB for the 2001 Chicago Bears, I had a lot of freedom within the offense to read things at the line of scrimmage and get us into the right play. We had a very good team that year, and ended up winning the NFC North. There were a lot of interesting offensive concepts within our scheme, so I recently dug out my old playbook to see if there were some things there that I could share with you.
This video shows a series called SUN RT 50. It’s three plays run out of the same formation, and the thing I always liked about it was that there were a lot of different options built into each play. Check out the video and I’ll show you how every play had a man-beater, a Cover 2-beater, and a Cover-3 beater. We had a tremendous amount of success with these plays, and the Double Smash was a touchdown-maker!Add to My RFN
